Social sector projects deal with issues related to the promotion of the wellbeing of individuals and communities with a focus on immigration and have the overall objective of fostering the creation of an integrated society by working within the formal and informal networks present in the territories concerned.
The approach followed consists of supporting the paths of individuals and groups, considering it fundamental to increase people’s capacity to actively control their own lives and take part in community activities (empowerment).
The methodology applied is based on the following tools and guidelines
• attention to the territory, to the dynamics and changes that occur over time;
• systemic perspective: analysing the needs and resources of local realities while taking into account the specificities of individual territories and enhancing resources in a logic of support, complementarity and integration;
• mixed research methods (quantitative and qualitative analysis);
• community development;
• conflict mediation; social mediation; linguistic-cultural mediation;
• narrative practices;
• participatory activities (e.g. workshops with mixed groups of natives and migrants);
• research/action
• co-design and participatory planning.
